Before your appointment, take a quick peek at our salon and spa policies. These guidelines help us keep things running smoothly and ensure every guest has the best possible experience. Thanks for taking a moment to read through them—we appreciate you!

Because of our thorough consultation process, we are able to deliver the perfect look and service at your appointment. For this reason, there are no refunds of services for any reason. However, if the outcome of your service doesn’t meet your expectations, give us a call and we will make it right.
Due to the nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns on any purchases from our home care selections. If you have questions when shopping, please let us know. Our staff are not only experts on each of our products, they’re enthusiastic fans! They’d love to share their favorites and help you find yours.

We understand that sometimes timing may be tight, and we always do our best to accommodate any late arrivals for appointments. Please note that our staff runs on an appointment based schedule for you, and everyone else, and for that reason your appointment may need to be rescheduled or adjusted otherwise.
If you are unable to make it to your appointment as scheduled, please call us to cancel as soon as possible. For all appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for 50% of the cost of your service. For appointments that are missed without a phone call or any other notice will be charged in full (100%) for the missed service.

All services begin with a thorough consultation—the most important part of the experience. We make every effort to listen and discuss exactly what our guests are expecting. As wishes are discussed, we ask our guests to voice any issues, concerns, allergies or medical conditions—we’re here for you and want you to be 100% satisfied. Our service providers will also offer product recommendations, as well as discuss routine maintenance. Before the service is performed, stylists will discuss the process as well as the products that will be used. We will do our best to give accurate pricing and timing predictions on color changes and corrections.
For some more involved services you may be required to book a complimentary consultation before scheduling your hair service.

To ensure the safety of our guests and staff, and to allow us to give each guest our undivided attention, only the person receiving the service is permitted on the styling floor. All other guests are asked to wait in the reception area, as required by our insurance provider. Children are not allowed in the spa or nail area at any time and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
If at any time, a guest makes our team feel uncomfortable or unsafe, their service may be ended, and they will be asked to leave.

We kindly request that phones be silenced, set to vibrate or be turned off to ensure that all our guests receive the relaxing experience we strive to provide. Two-way communication devices are also requested to be in ‘Off’ mode.

Salon and Spa on Railroad is not responsible for lost or stolen items or items left behind. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, personal checks and cash are all accepted methods of payment. $25 will be charged for all checks returned for non-sufficient funds.

We love living in the north woods, but we know that there are some *specific* considerations. During the winter, the weather has the potential to derail your schedule and ours. In the event that the salon will be closed due to inclement weather, we will notify you as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment. In the event that salon services will go on as planned, but you cannot safely make it to the salon, please call us as soon as possible.
For cases of inclement weather, you will not be charged for your last minute cancellation. -
We love what we do, and we love that we get to do it with you- our community! One of the ways that we share our passion is by taking and sharing our photos on social media. Your stylist may ask to take photos of your hair, skin or nails. If you are uncomfortable with any photos of you being shared online, please let your stylist know. By booking your appointment, you grant permission for your likeness (as captured in photos in the salon), to be used to market our salon, and your stylists’ services.
